  2. Purpose • To Provide an update on the Ft. Greely Installation Restoration Program (IRP) • since the September 2003 meeting to include: • FY 2004 schedule • Current Status • FY 2004 restoration work completed and planned • Introduction to the environmental Fact Sheets for 132 sites

  5. 2003 Environmental Restoration Activities (Since September 2003 Meeting) • Installation Restoration Program (IRP) • Installed 2 new monitoring wells southeast of airfield • Site Investigation of South Tank Farm at the CONOL Pipeline Pump Station • Confirmation sampling performed for TCE in groundwater • Installation Compliance Program • Site Investigation of tank farm at BLDG 617; Investigation report not complete • Installed 2 new monitoring wells at tank farm

  6. 2004 Environmental Restoration Activities • Installation Restoration Program • Remedial Investigation/Feasibility Study (RI/FS) to be performed at 2 sites • RI/FS of Landfills 4 & 5 and Fire Training Areas (BRAC Parcel 85) • Confirmation sampling for new monitoring wells • Installation Compliance Program • Complete Site Investigation of tank farm at BLDG 617 • Monitor groundwater • Initiate preliminary investigations at 14 locations • Conduct inventory of dry (injection) wells and research closure requirements

Environmental Fact Sheets • Background • AK District of Corps of Engineers developed 132 fact sheets from list of 148 sites • 8 sites transferred to Fort Wainwright • 8 sites were duplicate sites with different names • Current Status • Additional research conducted by SMDC and fact sheets were updated • Fact sheets sent to ADEC (Greg Light) for review 9 Jan 04 • Fact Sheets are posted on the RAB website(http://www.smdcen.us/rabfga) • Paper copy of the fact sheets available

  8. Sites Transferred to Fort Wainwright • Texas Complex • North Delta Tank Farm (possible transfer to FUDS) • Gerstle River Fueling Area • Gerstle River Test Site • Midas Site • Former Sewage Lagoon • PRTC Range 13 • IMPAC Range 3

Duplicate Sites • UST #399 addressed under BRAC 118 (Undeveloped Area UST) • BLDG 640 Tank #445 addressed under BRAC 82 (Air Curtain Incinerator) • Hazardous Waste Accumulation Area addressed under BRAC 92 (BLDG 100 Drum Storage) • Concrete Herbicide Mixing Pad addressed under BRAC 63 (BLDG 348) • UST Containing Waste Oil addressed under BRAC 77 (BLDG 340 Used Oil Tank) • Dilution Well addressed under BRAC 90 (Nuclear Waste Pipeline, East) • “UST Sites” will be addressed in separate fact sheets • “Fort Greely, Alaska Environmental Sites” are addressed individually
