  2. Do You Know These Tools? • Lone Re-arranger • Object Linking • Object ID Tool Box • Notification Center • Security – Password, multiple logins • One-click file access

  3. Lone Rearranger • Use to: • Rearrange • Rename • Remove • Can be used with Exams, Quizzes, Worksheets, Assignments, Packets, Discussion Groups, and Tasksheets. • Can rearrange or rename as many items as you wish in each session.

  4. Using Lone Rearranger • Two features: • Regardless of the number of assessments and/or students, you may rearrange assessments at any time • Grades and work associated with the assessments (including discussion boards) will remain tied to that assessment. • Access from Toolbox icon. • Must have at least version 9 of Flash installed

  5. Object Linking • All files you upload to Educator, assignments, quizzes, exams, discussion groups, and external link folders have IDs. • Can use these IDs to provide easy access to materials. • Access all IDs in a course – use the magnifying glass icon. • Brings up a pop-up window of folders and all Educator items

  6. Object Linking Format • <object: #> • Can use the Object ID Link Builder • Access through toolbox icon • Choose Object ID Link Builder

  7. Object Linking Format • Type in the object ID of the document you wish to link from this screen, or, if you don’t know the ID number, open the folder that contains that document. If you open a folder, click on the file that you wish to link. • Choose from the display options of Link, Embed or Popup. • Link, your object ID tag will produce a link to the document. • Embed, your object will be embedded within the document. • Popup, the document will open in a popup window. • Type in the Custom text in the box provided. • Click on the [Form Code] button

  8. Object ID Toolbox • Ever had issues with things “disappearing”? • Could be issue with Object IDs • Especially true if you add, replace, delete files • Access through toolbox icon • Choose Object ID Diagnostic Tool • New window opens to schedule the job • Runs at the top of the hour.

  9. Notification Tool • Want to “know” when students upload files, answer discussion questions, etc. • Students can do this also! • Click on Megaphone Icon • Choose type of events you want to be notified about • Enter email address • Select notification schedule

  10. Security • Do you have to change your password? • Does your Educator session time out? • Do you want to have multiple logins? • Click on Key Icon • Selection of settings • Changing password

  11. One-Click Access to Resources • Tired of clicking 4 times to view a file? • Can use object linking • Can also organize your resources into packets. • Packets are one click access to all resources • Students can download packet • Cannot use discussion groups in packet
