  2. Vocabulary Consecutive Integers: Integers that are consecutive. Numbers that follow right after another. 5 and 6 are consecutive integers. If k represents an integer, the next consecutive integer is k + 1

  3. Problem 1 The three sides of a triangle are consecutive integers. The perimeter is 72 inches. Find the measure of each side of the triangle.

  4. Vocabulary 2 Consecutive odd integers. If p represents an odd integer, what is the next odd integer?

  5. Problem 2 Page 218: Example 2: The length and width of a rectangle are consecutive odd integers and the perimeter is 168 centimeters. Find the length and width of the rectangle.

  6. Mixture Gina cracks open a piggy bank and finds $4.50 (450 cents), all in nickels and dimes There are 15 more dimes than nickels. How many nickels does Gina have?

  7. Solution Let n = number of nickels. Since there are 15 more dimes than nickels Let n + 15 = number of dimes Total value is 450 cents.
