IssuesMayor Robert Reichert, City of Macon & Chairman MGCAC *Over the past 5 to 6 years The Middle Georgia Clean Air Coalitionhas beenworking to improve the air quality in Middle Georgia for all and to stay off the non attainment list. *The change in EPA standards this year will greatly affect what we as a community can do for Robins AFB if we do not take action. *We need political support and financial assistance in fulfilling our mission of integrating air quality and economic development.

  3. Progress ReportChairman Ned Sanders, Houston County Commission • Clean Diesel • Gen Sets at Brosnan Yard • E-85 stations Mobile Sources • Commuting Programs • Alternative Fueled Vehicles and Infrastructure • Vehicle Inspection and Maintenance • Smart Growth Strategies • Ozone Season Action Plan • Anti-idling Non-Road Sources • Ozone Season Action Plan • Anti-idling • Diesel Retrofit

  4. What’s at Stake?Mayor Chuck Shaheen, Warner Robins Nearly half a million people’s health at stake if issue not addressed through actions to reduce nox emissions. Air Force will not add to non attainment problem: This means no new flying missions/ workload etc….would greatly affect the economy of the 23 County Robins Region Progress with Renewable energy projects between RAFB and Community could be thwarted if Houston placed on nonattainment list.

  5. PartnershipsMayor Tye Howard, Forsyth Georgia Power –Meeting last month; Result? Now a partner in MGCAC and contributor of 10k (working on “offsets” with us) Norfolk Southern RR; Forthcoming meeting with MGCAC RAFB to partner with Communities on traffic mitigation issues to include Commuter lots; incentives for carpooling; Clean Air Campaign rewards.
