  3. There are 11 schools in the Waynesville R-VI school district serving the Waynesville, St. Robert, and Ft. Leonard Wood areas. As of September 2012, there are a total of 6084 students enrolled in the district. Approximately 74% of students enrolled in the school district are military connected.   12. 7 Habits These 7 habits are based on the highly acclaimed book 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. East Elementary (K-2) has infused ideas from this book along with concepts from the program The Leader In Me into their model for helping new students transitioning into the school.Their approach not only helps new students adjust, but also builds anti-bullying skills.

  13. 6Th Grade Center Leadership Classes The 6th Grade Center has adopted a student led, student focused model for their 75 minute weekly leadership class. The goal of the leadership classes is to allow students to learn the decision making process while becoming good stewards of citizenship.   14. WMDS- Academic Teams • Students at the Waynesville Middle School are assigned to academic teams for the four core areas. This aids in creating consistency for students as teams coordinate lesson plans. • Language Arts • Math • Social Studies • Science • Weekly lessons plans are made available for parents or students and are located outside the main office • Academics

A+ Program- HS Earn $$$ or Scholarships for College • Maintain a 95% attendance record overall for grades 9-12 • Provide 50 hours of unpaid tutoring or mentoring • Graduate with an overall GPA of 2.5 or higher • Attend a designated A+ high school for 3 consecutive years immediately prior to graduation.

  17. LEAP- All Schools ( Learning Enrichment and Acceleration Program) LEAPis the Waynesville R-VI program for gifted and talented students. This program is designed to meet the needs of student’s who learn at a rapid pace and have the ability to think on high levels. Students who qualify for this program engage in challenging activities while having fun.

  22. SPORTS PASSES Sports passes are available for purchase in the Athletic Office for admission into school athletic events. The individual pass allows the holder to be admitted to all home contests during the term of the pass. The family pass allows the holder and his/her immediate family to be admitted to all home contests during the term of the pass. School employee passes and family/individual passes will not be accepted at district or other state level contests. The cost of the passes are as follows: Individual Season Pass $15.00

Interact Club- MS and HS The Interact Club is the youth based club for Rotary International Youth aged 12-18 learn lessons in “Helpfulness and respect for others” and “Understanding the value of of individual responsibility and hard work” through service learning based programs that help communities. (www.rotary.org) The Waynesville R-VI School District Interact Club at the middle school works once a week with the Waynesville VISTA office to help pack food for the Snack In A Pack program. Channel 12 on Cable America • The following information can be found on Channel 12 • School delays or emergency information • Broadcast of School Board and City Council meetings • Notices and broadcast of school events such as sporting events or concerts • Notices of local non-profit events Cable America provides a public access channel that is operated by the Waynesville R-VI School District.

  28. Power School Power School allows you to quickly and easily access your student’s grades online. Check attendance, find out what assignments are missing, or simply pay lunch money all in one convenient location.

  29. Power School A Power School login request sheet is handed out by the schools when a student is enrolled. Parents will need to fill out this form and return it to the main office at the student’s school. An account will be set up for the parents. Once the account is set up, parents will be notified of login information by e-mail. The first time parents log onto their new account, they will be prompted to create a password for the account.
