  2. Solar Energy • Solar Energy is the heat and light from the sun • During our project, we are going to build a solar oven. Materials used are… • Wood: for the structure of the oven • Plexiglass: reflect the light to the cookies • Paint: design the oven • Black felt: hold the heat from the sun • Aluminum Foil: Reflect the light • Gorilla Glue, hammers, staplers, and nails: hold the oven together

  3. Last thursday • Last Thursday we baked our cookies on such a day that our cookies were baking before we knew what was happening!

  5. Perimeter and area of oven • To find the perimeter of the oven, my partner and I used a measuring tape and ruler. Next we added all of the sides. • To find the area of the oven, my partner and I multiplied the length times the width.

  6. What I would change and do different • After baking our cookies, I would put paper on the tray so they wouldn’t stick to the foil. • Another thing I would do is staple the black felt so the wind doesn’t blow it off
