  6. 1950’s-The System was Simple …Health was managed by Family Doctor ...who made house calls …24/7 service…365 days a year …with the doctor’s black bag …knew the family medical history …responsible for coordinating care ...providing prompt reassurance

Today—the System is highly complex Today’s Primary Care Doctor …sees patients in office during regular hours with an appointment … averages 8-12 minutes with each patient …provides limited scope of care & refers to specialists …has only part of your medical history …leaves you to manage care …typically sees ~30 patients/day …may or may not accept your insurance plan …often little time for reassurance
