  2. What is Community Relations? TITLE • Our MPR priorities align with the new CF strategic plan: • Investing in students • Investing in team • Investing in community • Facilitate a college-going culture in the community through: advertising, public relations and community relations.

  3. What is Community Relations? • We enlist the college community to share our story through: • outreach • presence at community events • representation in key community organizations • Internal External Customers =

  4. Outreach - Hosting our own events • Shop Talk Cancer Awareness Program • Key partnerships : • Ocala Royal Dames • for Cancer Research • Ocala Health • Grassroots • education

  5. Outreach - Hosting our own events • CF Ministerial and Leadership Alliance: • Meets twice a year at Hampton Center • Faith and community leaders • Discuss a college-going culture • Reaching underserved populations • Community perceptions

  6. Outreach - Hosting our own events • Friday Talks Business Advancement Series: • Partnership with Ocala/Marion County CEP • Began August 2017 • Held monthly at Hampton Center • Provide tours to showcase programs • Feature CF faculty and staff

Representation in community organizations • Focus on engagement: • Many CF staff and faculty serve the community either as college representatives or on their own • Information is captured annually to track community participation on boards and in organizations • Personal and professional activities • If you don’t ask, you don’t know!

  14. Tracking engagement • Staff can enter recruitment and community outreach activities on the CF intranet

  15. Encourage engagement • Create a staff Speakers Bureau: • Share relevant topics/experiences • Community /civic organizations • Business events • Promote staff as ambassadors : • Share the good news • Be informed and answer questions • Encourage a college-going culture
