Argument Writing Features: • Providing your opinion on a particular topic • Focus on issue of public concern • Central claim or proposition • Claim is based on assumptions • Evidence that a general audience will believe • Addressing audience: ethos-character of speaker, logos-method of reasoning, pathos-appeal to the audiences’ emotions • Select a topic of interest that will encourage response by audience
