  3. Pre-Test • If your interview is scheduled for 9am, what time should you arrive? • What type of professional greeting should you extend to the employer? Explain. • If you’re not sure how to get to the employer’s location, what should you do? • Describe the type of body language that communicates interest and professional courtesy to the employer?

Resources & Technology • Students will need to be able to use Microsoft Word • Create a resume • Students will need to have a working knowledge of the Internet • Searching WBL sites for interviewing resources • Students will need to have access to a quality printer • Resume printing & related documents for the interview Stillwater Central High School CEIP Program

Be Ready Physically & Mentally • Physically • Get your rest before the interview • Be sure your dresses & groomed properly • Mentally • Practice interview questions with a friend • Walk through the typical interview process • Entering the Employer’s Office & Greeting the Employer Stillwater Central High School CEIP Program

Preparation is Key! • Use the Flash Cards to Prepare for the interview questions • Rehearse interview with a friend • Tape yourself and view the tape to constructively criticize yourself • Be careful of posture & body language • Know how to get there & get there early, about 15-20 minutes before interview time Stillwater Central High School CEIP Program

Flash Card #10 • What would you do if one supervisor told you to do something now and another supervisor told you to do it later? • Careful with this one, the employer wants to know how you would handle conflict • How would you handle it? • Don’t overreact with emotion and anger! • Be cool and confidently mention to the second supervisor that you were asked by the first to complete a task and then you’d be more than happy to complete second task, shows maturity and respect
