  2. Thank you for trusting your children with me this year!

  3. About me • I graduated from Columbus State University in 2012 My Husband, Travis and I love to spend our summers at the beach! When I was in Third Grade, My favorite subject was Science! This is our dog Max! He loves being out on the water with us.

  4. Goals • Get to know each of my students and begin creating a classroom community. • To build up confidence in my students…..They need to be recognized for success, no matter how great or small! • Lastly, I want my parents to feel involved in their child’s learning.

  5. Class Rules Respect • Property • Others • Ourselves • More to come on behavior management and routines as I begin in the classroom. • I will be officially starting September 19th.

  6. Grades • The substitute has been keeping grades from the start of school. • I will make record of these assessments and you will get your child’s work back at the end of each nine weeks. • Eventually, I will be able to post grades for your child in an online portal for you to access with a password. Students will receive grades in the following areas: • Reading • Writing • Language Arts • Spelling & Vocabulary • Math • Science • Social studies • Behavior • HW – Completion Grade

  7. Homework Policy • A HW packet will be sent home every Monday. • The work will need to be completed throughout the week. • Please contact me if there is a question about the HW. I will meet with your child to answer any questions. • Make sure that your child does their own work. This will greatly benefit them! • I will expect the HW completed and in the homework bin Friday morning of each week. • Students will receive letter grades on their overall score • S • N • U • More information to come on HW directions.

Tentative Schedule • 7:45- 8:00 Morning Routine • 8:00-8:30 AR ,Spelling, Vocabulary Building • 8:30-8:50 Discuss Morning Work • 8:50-10:30 Math • 10:30-11:00 Recess ( Monday-Wednesday) • 11:00-11:55 Language Arts/ Writing • 12:00-12:30 Lunch • 12:30-1:15 Reading • 1:15-2:00 Science/Social Studies • 2:00-2:20 Prepare for Dismissal • Note: When we have a connection period our schedule will be altered to fit our schedule for the day. Monday: Computer Lab 9:40-10:20 Wednesday: Music 8:55-9:35 Thursday: PE 8:10- 8:50 & Art 8:55-9:35 Friday: PE 8:10-8:50

  13. How can parents help? • Eat lunch with students • Read books in the classroom • Volunteer for school activities • Help with field trips or other classroom happenings • Donate materials needed for the classroom • Serve on PTO • Reinforce classroom rules and good study habits
