  1. Read This Before Planning to Study MBBS in Philippines Around 16 Lakh students applied for the NEET Exam 2021 and almost all of them appeared for it as well. However, the medical seats in India (government + private) aren’t enough to incorporate all of them, which leads to many deserving Indian medical aspirants getting left out. This is where a Philippines MBBS college comes into the minds of people. The quality of education offered there as well as the affordable fee structure are the 2 main reasons why many prefer this destination. However, today, we shall understand some of the most important aspects of this prospect. Affordability (MBBS in Philippines fees) As of March 2022, one Philippines Peso equals INR 1.5. However, this doesn’t mean that this prospect is an expensive one! Talking of the MBBS in Philippines fees, tuition fees begin as low as INR 20 Lakh for the entire 5.5-year course. This is just a fraction of what the private medical universities

  2. in India levy on the students. Even if we consider the overall fees (including accommodation and other charges), the total cost stands as much as INR 25-30 Lakh. Also, unlike India, students also DO NOT have to pay any donations and/or capitation fees, which further makes the prospect more affordable. Choice (Which Philippines MBBS College to go for?) Though there are a number of public and private universities in the Philippines, there is only a handful that is of top-notch quality. These universities mentioned below are currently the most attractive and sought-after by Indian medical aspirants. 1. University of Perpetual Help System Dalta 2. AMA School of Medicine 3. Our Lady Fatima University 4. Davao Medical School Foundation 5. Bicol Christian College of Medicine Curriculum Quality In the end, this is all that matters when an individual plans to pursue higher medical studies in The Philippines. To everyone’s delight, Filipino universities possess some of the most advanced curricula that are up-to-date with global standards. Almost every top Philippines MBBS college covers all the important medical disciplines, including ones like - 1. General Medicine 2. Surgery 3. Clinical Psychology 4. ENT 5. Radiology 6. Obstetrics and Gynecology 7. Pediatrics 8. Ophthalmology 9. Otorhinolaryngology 10.Medical Ethics/Legal medicine 11.Family Medicine 12.Psychiatry 13.Endocrinology 14.Virology

  3. 15.Neuroscience, and a whole lot more. Students don’t just get to study these disciplines in their classes BUT also spend enough time in laboratories, putting all that they’ve learned to practical use. Practical applications are further honed through medical internships and clerkships in renowned hospitals within the Philippines and abroad. The Situation Regarding the NMC Gazette Currently, the Indian embassy in the Philippines has released a notification regarding the degrees of Indian medical aspirants from a Philippines MBBS college. It clarified that all those who took admission before 18th November 2021 need not worry about the NMC gazette regulations regarding MBBS abroad. These regulations DO NOT recognize degrees from here as it considers the BS course of these universities invalid. This means that the total duration of the course “officially” is 4 years, as compared to the minimum required duration by the NMC Gazette i.e. 5.5 years (4.5 Year course + 1 Year Internship). As far as future enrollees are concerned, the Filipino universities will soon adjust their pattern to fit the NMC guidelines soon enough. This is because these cannot afford to lose such a huge market like India, especially when Indian students contribute the most, financially and educationally. All in all, these are some of the most important go-aheads that students need to know before heading for MBBS in Philippines. Knowing these will help an individual better adjust their budgetary considerations as well as itinerary. In short, the Philippines is still a good and genuine option.
