  1. Then Philip ran up to the chariot and heard the man reading Isaiah the prophet. "Do you understand what you are reading?" Philip asked. "How can I," he said, "unless someone explains it to me?" So he invited Philip to come up and sit with him. The eunuch was reading this passage of Scripture:    "He was led like a sheep to the slaughter,       and as a lamb before the shearer is silent,       so he did not open his mouth.   In his humiliation he was deprived of justice.       Who can speak of his descendants?       For his life was taken from the earth." The eunuch asked Philip, "Tell me, please, who is the prophet talking about, himself or someone else?" Acts

  2. Who Am I?

  3. I was known to speak in riddles. I did not answer every question. I experienced fatigue and hunger. My reputation was verbally accosted. I refused an offer of world power. I was accused of practicing sorcery. My life was threatened many times. I surprised many. Who Am I?

  4. In English: Jesus You Know My Name In Hebrew: Yeshua Meaning: “Jehovah is Salvation”

  5. I was known to speak in riddles. 10 The disciples came to him and asked, "Why do you speak to the people in parables?" 11 He replied, "The knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of heaven has been given to you, but not to them. 12Whoever has will be given more, and he will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken from him. 13This is why I speak to them in parables:    "Though seeing, they do not see;      though hearing, they do not hear or understand. 14In them is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah: Matthew 13.10-14a

  6. I did not answer every question. 23 Jesus entered the temple courts, and, while he was teaching, the chief priests and the elders of the people came to him. "By what authority are you doing these things?" they asked. "And who gave you this authority?"   24 Jesus replied, "I will also ask you one question. If you answer me, I will tell you by what authority I am doing these things. 25John's baptism—where did it come from? Was it from heaven, or from men?" 27 So they answered Jesus, "We don't know." Then he said, "Neither will I tell you by what authority I am doing these things. Matthew 21.23-25, 27

  7. I experienced hunger. 11 Jesus entered Jerusalem and went to the temple. He looked around at everything, but since it was already late, he went out to Bethany with the Twelve. 12 The next day as they were leaving Bethany, Jesus was hungry. Mark 11.11-12

  8. I experienced fatigue. 6 Jacob's well was there, and Jesus, tired as he was from the journey, sat down by the well. It was about the sixth hour. John 4.6

  9. My reputation was verbally accosted. 39 "Abraham is our father," they answered. "If you were Abraham's children," said Jesus, "then you would do the things Abraham did. 40As it is, you are determined to kill me, a man who has told you the truth that I heard from God. Abraham did not do such things. 41You are doing the things your own father does.“ "We are not illegitimate children," they protested. "The only Father we have is God himself." John 8.39-41

  10. I refused an offer of world power. 5 The devil led him up to a high place and showed him in an instant all the kingdoms of the world. 6 And he said to him, "I will give you all their authority and splendor, for it has been given to me, and I can give it to anyone I want to. 7So if you worship me, it will all be yours." 8 Jesus answered, "It is written: 'Worship the Lord your God and serve him only.'" Luke 4.5-8

  11. I was accused of practicing sorcery. 15 But some of them said, "By Beelzebub, the prince of demons, he is driving out demons." 16Others tested him by asking for a sign from heaven. 17 Jesus knew their thoughts and said to them: "Any kingdom divided against itself will be ruined, and a house divided against itself will fall. 18If Satan is divided against himself, how can his kingdom stand? I say this because you claim that I drive out demons by Beelzebub. 19Now if I drive out demons by Beelzebub, by whom do your followers drive them out? So then, they will be your judges. Luke 11.15-19

  12. My life was threatened many times. 13 When they had gone, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream. "Get up," he said, "take the child and his mother and escape to Egypt. Stay there until I tell you, for Herod is going to search for the child to kill him." Matthew 2.13

  13. My life was threatened many times. 3 Then the chief priests and the elders of the people assembled in the palace of the high priest, whose name was Caiaphas, 4and they plotted to arrest Jesus in some sly way and kill him. cf. Luke 22.2 Matthew 26.3-4

  14. My life was threatened many times. 31 At that time some Pharisees came to Jesus and said to him, "Leave this place and go somewhere else. Herod wants to kill you." Luke 13.31

  15. My life was threatened many times. 17 Jesus said to them, "My Father is always at his work to this very day, and I, too, am working." 18 For this reason the Jews tried all the harder to kill him; not only was he breaking the Sabbath, but he was even calling God his own Father, making himself equal with God. John 5.17-18

  16. My life was threatened many times. 1 After this, Jesus went around in Galilee, purposely staying away from Judea because the Jews there were waiting to take his life. 19 Has not Moses given you the law? Yet not one of you keeps the law. Why are you trying to kill me?" 20 "You are demon-possessed," the crowd answered. "Who is trying to kill you?“ 25 At that point some of the people of Jerusalem began to ask, "Isn't this the man they are trying to kill? John 7.1, 19-20, 25

  17. My life was threatened many times. 37 I know you are Abraham's descendants. Yet you are ready to kill me, because you have no room for my word. 38I am telling you what I have seen in the Father's presence, and you do what you have heard from your father." 39 "Abraham is our father," they answered. "If you were Abraham's children," said Jesus, "then you would do the things Abraham did. 40As it is, you are determined to kill me, a man who has told you the truth that I heard from God. Abraham did not do such things. John 8.37-40

  18. I surprised many. 36 While they were still talking about this, Jesus himself stood among them and said to them, "Peace be with you."  37They were startled and frightened, thinking they saw a ghost. 38He said to them, "Why are you troubled, and why do doubts rise in your minds? 39Look at my hands and my feet. It is I myself! Touch me and see; a ghost does not have flesh and bones, as you see I have." 40 When he had said this, he showed them his hands and feet. 41And while they still did not believe it because of joy and amazement, he asked them, "Do you have anything here to eat?" 42They gave him a piece of broiled fish, 43and he took it and ate it in their presence. Luke 24.36-43

  19. I surprised many. 3 For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, 5 and that he appeared to Peter, and then to the Twelve. 6 After that, he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers at the same time, most of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep. 1 Corinthians 15.3-6
