  1. The pilot had activated the fasten seat belt sign and we were now approaching Leh airport. As I eagerly scanned the tiny aircraft window, I saw a large, barren desert and, in its midst, a small landing-strip. For a moment, my throat became dry. It was truly the beginning of my Ladakh adventure. The state of Jammu & Kashmir is home to the humble land Ladakh, India. It is surrounded by the Great Himalayas to its south and the Kunlun mountain range to the north. Extreme weather conditions that see temperatures drop to minus 35 degrees Celsius have left the area sparsely populated. This has resulted in a beautiful and clean environment. You will feel far away from home once you arrive in Ladakh. You will feel like you are wrapped in nature's arms with clear blue skies, wide desert landscapes, ice-capped mountain peaks, and the gentle cold mountain breeze against your skin. Ladakh package is known for being the "Land of the Gompas' ' (or monasteries). The region, which is a Tibetan-speaking area, has been home to numerous Buddhist monasteries. Thiksey and Shay, Shey, Dhankar, are the most famous. Many Buddhists spend their whole lives studying and learning in monasteries. It is ideal for adventurous biking adventures. Every biker's dream ride is the winding, hilly roads that run through the mountains. You can enjoy breathtaking views of the valley below as you climb against the backdrop of a crisp, clear sky. You can reach Ladakh bike trip or air any time of the year. Daily flights are available from Delhi, Srinagar and Jammu. There are also stop-over flight options from other places. Climate: Ladakh tour package is located at altitudes of approximately 9,000 feet (2750m at Kargil) to 25,170 feet (7.672m at Saser Kangri, in the Karakoram). Temperature extremes can be intense at these altitudes. Summer between June and October is the best time to travel, as it is when the weather is at its best. November is prone to heavy snowfall, and the temperatures can drop dramatically to the negatives. Health: Because of its high altitude, oxygen levels can be low. You might feel heavier initially and it is recommended that you allow your body to adjust before you start any type of physical activity. If you feel unwell, there is a nearby hospital in Leh. You have many options when it comes to accommodation in Leh and Ladakh. Contact capture to arrange a trip. You will find so much that the destination is worth visiting, you should plan to spend no less than seven days. Cuisine: The Zanskar and Indus Rivers bring fertility to the land, which allows for agriculture to thrive. Ladakhi cuisine has mild spices and lots of butter to help keep you hydrated in the harsh mountain climate. Many Chinese restaurants offer Tibetan-inspired Chinese food. You can walk to the market every evening and find vendors selling hot tea with butter and spicy kebab rolls. Leh Market: Leh Market is full of charming shops that glow as the sun sets. You can find everything you need, from woollens to spices to warm bread to miniature prayer wheels to silk scarves and gasoline lanterns to local beaded jewellery.

  2. You must experience: Other than the Gompas, there is plenty more to do. The Shanti Stupa, located in Changspa, is a real haven in the middle of the great mountains. The Chaddar Ice Trek is for the more adventurous. The 19-day trek across the frozen Zanskar river isn't for everyone. You should have prior mountaineering experience, and be able to endure frigid weather conditions. The trek changes depending on how thick the ice is.
