  17. How your Association works for YOU Following are a number of ways the Home Owners Association advocates on your behalf. Both inside the Sandycove Acres community as well as in the Innisfil community.

  18. How your Association works for you With the change in ownership of Sandycove Acres the Home Owners is part of a “Parkbridge Umbrella Group” that represents similar communities owned and operated by Parkbridge in Ontario. This group meets regularly to discuss common issues and to compare notes. Representing the Home Owners are; John Bicknell – President Ted Gemmell – Vice President Paul Martell – Director Sharon Raycraft - Director

  19. How your Association works for you Complaints: Assist members of the Association with respect to major problems or complaints which may arise and cannot be resolved through direct communication between the member and Sandycove Acres.

  20. How your Association works for you General Interests: Through direct communication and liaison with Sandycove Acres/Parkbridge Management, promote a relationship between members and the Company which is professional, constructive and satisfying and which results in members receiving maximum benefit from living in Sandycove Acres.

  21. How your Association works for you Emergency Preparedness: Promote, support and develop an Emergency Plan for SCA. Through the Emergency Preparedness Committee promote activities to aid in the event of a community emergency.

  22. How your Association works for you The Candidates being introduced and just some of the large gathering in attendance Elections: The Home Owners hosts candidate meetings for Federal, Provincial and Municipal elections

  23. How your Association works for you Television: Discussions with the Cable provider for rates and channel selections. Due to changing Federal regulations this effort is primarily controlled by the signal providers (Rogers, Bell Media, Shaw) and this determines cost and what programming is available.

  24. How your Association works for you Home Fair: Hosts an annual exhibition of local contractors and home improvement suppliers in the spring of each year.

  25. How your Association works for you ALTERNATIVE LIVING FAIR was held in November 2013. The Fair attempts to provide alternatives to what is the next step if living in Sandycove becomes difficult? Numerous long term care, retirement homes and home healthcare providers were at the WHEEL to present their services. This event is held periodically and is provided so residents can visit and speak directly to care providers in our community.

  26. How your Association works for you HEALTH FAIR was held in November 2012 and was very well attended. Numerous health care providers were at the WHEEL to present their services. The Health Fair is a regular event and is provided so residents can visit and speak directly to care providers in our community. Watch for announcements for a November 2014 Health Fair

  27. Innisfil Community Health Two groups are actively working to develop a plan for primary healthcare services in Innisfil. The Innisfil Community Health Committee is reviewing the Town as a whole and is considering various alternatives. Extensive work has been done on this initiative that has been very worthwhile but has not yet been able to address specific issues to replace the BCHC medical offices that moved from the Sandycove Plaza in May 2011.

  28. Innisfil Community Health Also the North Innisfil Health Services Committee continues to work specifically for the Sandycove community. The Home Owners fully supports both these Committees, with Sandycove representation on both Committees, as they work toward healthcare solutions for Innisfil and in particular the residents of Sandycove. This is a slow an-going process so please watch the Newsletter, the WEB site or signup to the eBulletin Community Newsletter for current information.

  29. How your Association works for you The VON CANADA SMART Exercise Program provides Seniors support to improve their strength, balance and flexibility regardless of their current ability level.  physical activities designed for successful aging.  The Home Owners Association, through the efforts of former Board member Pat Whittaker, continues to support this valuable program. The program is successful because there is an excellent team of volunteers.  Please see Pat for more information.
