  2. Description Talent Agents Represent and promote talent and performers to prospective employers. May handle contract negotiation and other business matters for clients. In the music business they book live personal appearances, tour sponsorship, television specials and TV commercials.
  3. Requirements In Florida a person acting as a talent agent is required to be licensed by the state. Acting as an unlicensed talent agent is punishable by a $2,500 citation on the first offense.
  4. Education A.S., A.A. or B.A. in Business Administration. A Two-year degree is enough to be licensed. State of Florida require proof of at least 1 year of experience as an operator of a talent agency or as a subagent, casting director, producer, director, advertiser, talent coordinator, or musical booking agent.
  5. Several Colleges offer two-year degrees. Miami Dade College. Broward Community College. Daytona Beach Community College. Florida community College.

  7. Markets A talent agent has access to a growing talent pool market in South Florida. In fact, Miami’s greater cosmopolitan area comprises one of the most expansive and successful entertainment markets in the world, and continues to serve as a top destination for aspiring artists.

  9. Employability Employment is expected to grow 22 percent over the 2007-17 decade as industry increasingly rely on agents to hire talent. Job growth is projected in very large talent agencies that specialize in specific areas.
