Superficial Muscle Group 3 Lateral Muscles • Brachioradialis (Flexes elbow) • Extensor carpi radialis longus (extends wrist; aids in radial flexion of wrist) • O: lateral supracondylar ridge of humerus • I: metacarpal II • N: Radial nerve • Extensor carpi radialis brevis (extends wrist; aids in radial flexion of wrist) • O: Lateral epicondyle of humerus • I: metacarpal III • N: Posterior interosseous nerve

Superficial Muscle Group 4 Posterior Muscles Originate at Lateral epicondyle of humerus • Anconeus(Extends elbow) • I: Olecranon & posterior surface of ulna • N: radial nerve • Extensor digitorum • I: Dorsal surfaces of phalanges 2-5 • N: posterior interosseous nerve • Extensor digiti minimi • I: proximal phalanx 5 • N: Posterior interosseous nerve • Extensor carpi ulnaris • I: base of metacarpal 5 • N: posterior interosseous nerve

  4. Watch Out Posterior antebrachial cutaneous nerve • Do not sever: • Posterior antebrachial cutaneous nerve • Extensor retinaculum
