  3. ADVANCED DIGITAL IMAGING WITH THE OCT O C T ( O P T I C A L C O H E R E N C E T O M O G R A P H Y ) The OCT is an instrument very similar to an MRI scan but for the eyes. It produces 3D images, allowing the Optometrist to detect problems that could not easily be seen previously. The OCT provides an incredibly detailed examination of the eyes; this detects eye conditions such as Glaucoma and Age Related Macula degeneration at a much earlier stage.

  4. VISIONIX VX 120 We now use the Visionix VX120 to examine the shape and uniformity of the cornea and anterior structures of the eye. This allows us to detect corneal disease and to determine whether a patient is at risk of developing Acute Glaucoma due to the physiological, anatomical structure of the eye. It also enables us to assess the presence of cataracts in more detail.
