The Rio Salado Parent Liaison story Creighton ESD • Two year process • Working individually with Title I schools • Wrap Around Services • 80% of students reading less than 15% of words accurately • 5 of 9 schools are Title I • 93% of student on Free and Reduced Lunches • 60% of parents have 8th grade education or LESS • 85% of students are Hispanic and 45% have limited English proficiency

  6. Family Liaisons or Parent Liaisons = Parent Involvement must be personal Typical profile of a parent in a Title I school: • The parent has less than an 8th grade education • Works full time • May not understand the educational issues surrounding their child’s learning.
