To create a national organization that: Provides a forum where Black Canadians and like minded people dialogue on issues that are of national importance that impact the community as a whole Informs the wider community on emerging issues, policies that could have an impact on the community being treated in an equitable manner. Develops future leaders and foster volunteering in our youth through civic engagement, internship and scholarships Conducts research and analysis that are broader in scope on issues and concerns affecting the black community and underserved communities

VisionThe Canadian Coalition on Black Civic Engagement envisions a CAnada in which the black community is free of all inequalities and able to Participate and contribute fully to advancing the common good. Mission The Canadian Coalition on Black Civic Engagement will inspire and empower the black community by developing leaders, informing policy, educating the public and increase civic engagement in the community and underserved communities

Objectives • Informs the black community by providing information in a balanced and objective manner • Provides a forum where various community, business leaders, political representatives and concerned individuals can congregate to inform, discuss, debate and obtain feedback on issues, alternative methods of resolution and decision-making. • Facilitates the full participation of the Black Community in Canadian Society. • Provides meaningful research and analysis that inform the decision-making and addresses the issues and concerns impacting the black and underserved communities. • Empowers the various community business leaders, political representatives, and concerned individuals with the necessary information to be engaged.

  4. OUTCOMES • Sound research and Analysis • An annual conference where diverse stakeholders congregate who may not otherwise meet. • Develop future leaders in our youth

Success Factors • Elements that are key to the success of the Network: • An engaged community in educational, social, political and health issues • Youth that are inspired to pursue careers in various levels of government through the internship, fellowship and scholarship programs. • Black youth volunteering in more community projects • Annual Civic Engagement Conference is the number one event for the black community • Public and Private sector individuals and companies support the goals and objectives of the Network
