Aims To provide a range of information, support materials and guidance that will enable you to: • develop a shared understanding of the changed context and model of support for 2008/09 • continue to work effectively with providers. The Skills for Life Improvement Programme is delivered on behalf of the Quality Improvement Agency by CfBT Education Trust and partners

Objectives These are to: clarify the purpose and elements of the support package for embedding LLN through a WOA brief you on your own role and responsibilities in working with providers and in reporting provide up-to-date information related to priority settings clarify how you will be supported by the respective consortium partners. CPD (1) Objectives: You’ll have enough information to be able to advise your providers during your initial visits on what CPD is available to meet their staff development needs You’ll be clear about what’s expected of you in terms of coordinating CPD for your peer working group The Skills for Life Improvement Programme is delivered on behalf of the Quality Improvement Agency by CfBT Education Trust and partners

Quality Assurance • CfBT, LSN or NIACE will : • track dates of peer working group meetings and consultancy support • quality assure visit reports and deal with any issues • analyse participant evaluations and follow up • use feedback to feed into and inform future delivery • observe a representative sample of consultancy support and CPD events.   20. Quality Assurance – Observations • Objectives • Share good practice • Maximise support for DAs and participants • Supportive process focused on development • Constructive feedback • Opportunity for verbal input • Written report with suggestions for improvement • Agreed support

  21. Quality Assurance – Observations • 10% random sample of DAs and where issues arise • Minimum 1 week’s notice • Total length of session • Include pre-course planning, content, quality, responsiveness

  22. Provider feedback • Providers are required to: • complete and return a satisfaction survey in • February • complete and return a final impact survey in • July

  23. Postponement and cancellation • Providers are asked to: • give a minimum of 2 weeks notice of cancellation of appointment or event • inform us if low attendance is likely at any CPD or PGW event • If not, they may : • be charged up to £400 notice • forfeit that support if alternatives cannot be arranged

  24. Provider withdrawal • Withdrawal by provider • They must notify managing partner by email min. 14 days in advance of planned session • Withdrawal by managing partner • Alternatives may be proposed to complete planned work
