This is a comprehensive guide for fourth-grade students and their parents at Langford Elementary School.   1. Welcome to Fourth Grade Susan Larson Langford Elementary School

  2. Communication Methods • Folders – each student will have a folder that goes home every day and comes back to school every day. • Assignment Books – each student will record their daily assignments in this book and bring it home. • Newletter – Every Friday a newsletter will be sent home summarizing the weeks activities and preview the next weeks.

  3. Subjects • Mathematics • Reading • Spelling • English • Handwriting • Science • Social • South Dakota History • P.E. • Music • Computer

  4. Rewards • Weekly dollars – each late assignment cost $1 and at the end of each quarter we will have a party that the students can purchase items with the saved dollars. • Credit Cards – each student will receive stamps for good deeds. When their card has 10 stamps they will be able to choose an award

  5. Expectations • Assignments done on time. • Good Attitude • Follow Rules • Best Effort • Be responsible for self Rules • Respect others and their property • Use your brain • Listen and follow directions • Effort 100% • Smile

  6. Discipline Check in – First time warning. Check in – Second time 1 recess Note or phone call home. Principles Office

  7. Grades • Each student will earn their own grades. Mid-quarter reports will be sent home. A grading scale will be sent home.On major projects grade will be docked for lateness. Time limits may be set for late papers. Extra credit may occasionally be offered.

  9. Miscellaneous Information • Treats – each student will need to bring milk break treats 10 times. Bring them at your convenience. • Tests – tests will be sent home, but they need to come back signed within two days. • AR – parents will be helping students set quarterly AR goals.
