INFORMS International OR Education Initiative Success of the 1st ALIO/INFORMS Workshop on OR Education led to • Commitment by INFORMS for five years (annual workshops through 2011) • Commitment by IFORS to match INFORMS (five years of annual workshops through 2011) • Commitment by EURO to send one speaker to the 2007 workshop • Commitment to a 2nd workshop at the 2008 CLAIO in Cartagena, Colombia • Commitment to a joint ALIO/INFORMS conference in 2010 (in Buenos Aries)

INFORMS International OR Education Initiative Success of the 1st ORPA/INFORMS Workshop on OR Education led to • Commitment by EURO to send at least one speaker for four years (annual workshops through 2011) • Commitment to a 2nd workshop in 2009 in eastern Africa (Kenya, Tanzania, or Madagascar) • Creation of the Network of Operations Research Educators in Africa (NOREA – contact Neil Manson or visit http://groups.yahoo.com/group/norea/ for details) • ORPA IV - Using Operations Research to Address Urban Transport and Water Resource Management Issues in Africa(Washington D.C.) in 2008

INFORMS Transactions on Education Working to expand awareness, readership, authorship, and editorial contributions to a wider audience by: • attending international and large regional conferences in targeted geographies to promote ITE and recruit authors, referees, and Associate Editors • asking OR societies in other countries to add a hyperlink to ITE to their organization’s websites; • asking OR societies in other countries to allow me to contribute articles on ITE to their newsletters; and • listing ITE on various journal directories (we have already successfully listed ITE in the Directory of Open Access Journals - http://www.doaj.org)
