Dasher The MiEV (Mitsubishi innovative Electronic Vehicle) will be exhibited in front of the Sakura Hall. Director, US-Asia Technology Management Center/ Executive Director, Center for Integrated Systems / Consulting Professor, School of Engineering, Stanford University, America The i-MiEV emits no CO2*1 when being driven. When you use “green energy” which is generated electricity with less CO2 emissions to charge the battery, you can work better for Prevention of Global Warming. Dr. Dasher was the first non-Japanese person ever asked to join the senior governance of a Japanese national university, serving a one-year term on the Board of Directors of Tohoku University from April 2004. He continues to serve on the Management Steering Council of Tohoku University and as Special Advisor to the Tohoku University president. From 2001-2003, he was a member of the International Advisory Committee to the Japanese Minister of State for Science and Technology Policy in regard to the creation of the Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology. He is regularly called on to consult for local and regional governments in Japan, the U.S. and Asia in regard to innovation-based regional economic development and university-industry relations. *1 Dose not include the amount of CO2 emissions from power generation to battery recharging. He was a executive director of Sharp Co. and had led its solar system division to the world top share for 7 years. Senior Researcher, Central Research Institute of Electric Power Industry / Project Professor, Department of Architecture, School of Engineering, The University of Tokyo Dr. Yanagihara is specialized in heat pumps, thermal storage systems, and various other technologies for energy conservation and operation management. Katuto Nakatsuka Hiroshi Kazui Executive Vice President / Director, Office of Corporative Research and Development, Tohoku University He was the Director-General of Tohoku Bureau of Economy, Trade and Industry and the Director-General of the Small and Medium Enterprises Agency, METI Supervisor to the Director, JST Innovation Plaza Miyagi He was a dean, a vice president and a board of trustee of Tohoku University and put great effort into establishing university-industry relations and promoting industrial applications of academic research results.
