  3. Objectives of CoP

  4. What is the CoP • An informal network for knowledge sharing • UNDP’s principal way of sharing Knowledge. • It Connects Experts and practitioners with a common professional interest pursuing solutions to common problems • They utilize face to face meetings, networks, workspaces to promote peer interaction and mutual support to colleagues.

  5. Community of Practice • Shares experiences, develops knowledge tools • Builds strategic relationships through community identity • Sets and acts on strategic priorities • Engages in advocacy, partnership building, professional development, and facilitates communication • CoP Tools: Practice Notes, primers, knowledge products etc • Networks, community building activities, meetings, e-discussion) • Innovation (Innovation fund)

Role in changing Practice • Contributes to broader governance and Development Issues • TOT when need arise • Core group of Experts to lead the Ac agenda • Contribute to knowledge debates • Develop knowledge products • Assist in in-country missions • From Service line, sub practice to a practice • Cross Cutting Issue • Mainstreaming anti-Corruption in ongoing products

  8. Two Global CoP meetings • Seoul and Guatemala • Seoul called itself a peer review group attended by 20 practioners from five regions and two SURFS. Looked mostly at programming issues e.g. source book on ATI, cases studies & anti-corruption practice note • Guatemala:28 UNDP business units 23 country offices, 36 participants from Country offices, Surfs and Regional Bureaus, RWI TI Nigeria and ISS. Looked more at current developments and UNDP possible responses.

What are the issues today • Issues from Guatemala where are we? • Continuous updating AC workspace as a repository of the AC CoP with better classification of issues and codification of Best Practices • Increased linkages with other partners and networks TI,U4,OECD • Provision of online training • Dev of Primers on AC & Post conflict • Finalization of Gender Primer • Better understanding of UNCAC • Discourse on Political Corruption • Learn from human rights agenda • Develop a Primer on UNDP experience and NRNR

Challenges • Capacity; International norms and standards • Policy guidelines on UNCAC & UNDP mandate • Absence if knowledge products • Too many players too few experts (new field) • AC just one of many assignments • Lack of information and political will at country level • Coordinating with other UN agencies and donors • An ever evolving agenda • Cooperation and avoiding duplication with UNODC & donors • AC & TWG at country level
