  3. Being SMART in Setting Goals S- specific • A goal should be clear and focused on a specific outcome. • The more specific the goal is, the more likely it is to be achieved.

  4. Being SMART in Setting Goals M- measureable • Tangible evidence should be available to indicate your progress. • If you can’t measure it, you can’t handle it!

  5. Being SMART in Setting Goals A- achieveable • The goal should stretch you enough to challenge you, but be defined enough that you can achieve them.

  6. Being SMART in Setting Goals R- relevant • The goal should be aligned/consistent with other goals. • The goal should fit into the broader scope of what you want to accomplish in life; your direction.

  7. Being SMART in Setting Goals T- time oriented • The goal should be linked to a timeframe. • When a timeframe is associated with a goal it provides a sense of urgency.

  8. In Summary • Setting Goals gives us a purpose or direction in life. • Setting and achieving goals makes us feel better and improves our confidence. • Achieving goals can also inspire others around us.

  9. In Summary • When setting goals, you should be SMART. • You should always have a plan of action; how you are going to accomplish the goal. • You should check your progress frequently and adjust accordingly.
