  15. Testimony (Cont) • I desperately needed peace that everything was going to be okay. • Discussion Question

  16. Discussion Question Discuss in your group how you relate to Kelly’s story.

  17. Biblical Example • We’re talking about inner peace today. Knowing that everything is okay. • God leading Israelites out of Egypt

  18. Biblical Example (Cont) • God leading Israelites out of Egypt • Pillar of smoke and fire

  19. Biblical Example (Cont) • Pillar of smoke and fire • God promised to provide all their needs

  20. Biblical Example (Cont) • God promised to provide all their needs • He did not lead them into the desert to starve and die

  21. Biblical Example (Cont) • He did not lead them into the desert to starve and die • God has not forgotten you (Luke 12:6-7)

  22. Luke 12:6-7 • (6) Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten by God. (7) Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Don't be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.

  23. Biblical Example (Cont) • We are so much more valuable than a sparrow. If He won’t forget a sparrow, He is most definitely concerned with us. • Much of our lack of peace, anxiety, and worry is our own doing

  24. Biblical Example (Cont) • Much of our lack of peace, anxiety, and worry is our own doing • 98% of things we worry about never happen

  25. Biblical Example (Cont) • 98% of things we worry about never happen • Matthew 6:26-34

  26. Matthew 6:26-34 (26) Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? (27) Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life? (28) "And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin.

  27. Matthew 6:26-34 (29) Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. (30) If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you--you of little faith? (31) So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?'

  28. Matthew 6:26-34 (32) For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. (33) But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. (34) Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

  29. Biblical Example (Cont) • We see God has all of our needs covered • Looking at Solomon, we see we can’t provide all we need to the level that God can

  30. Biblical Example (Cont) • Looking at Solomon, we see we can’t provide all we need to the level that God can • How do we have that inner peace?

  31. Biblical Example (Cont) • How do we have that inner peace? Trust God with everything and know He will provide and take care of us • Discussion Question

  32. Discussion Question • How do these biblical truths relate to your own personal story of being desperate for peace?
