  1. The Gingerbread Boy and His Scientific Journey By: Bailey Smith 5th Period

  2. Page 1 • Once upon a time, a scientific woman and a scientific man lived in a laboratory. One day the scientific woman made an experimental gingerbread boy. She gave him special ingredients to make him alive and used a dough roller to flatten him out.

  3. Page 2 • After making the gingerbread boy, the scientific woman used work to pick up the gingerbread boy and place him in the scientific oven below her to bake. She set a clock and waited for him to finish cooking.

  4. Page 3 • The scientific woman and the scientific man were very anxious to experiment on the gingerbread boy. As soon as he was cooked, the scientific woman open the oven door. The gingerbread boy jumped out of the oven quickly and climbed up to the closed window. He used a screwdriver to pry open the window hinge, which has very good mechanical efficiency and allows him to escape extremely fast.

  5. Page 4 • As soon as the gingerbread boy lands on the trail and begins to run, the scientific woman and man rush to their car and step on the gas pedal in hope of catching him. The car has a good mechanical advantage, so it catches up to the gingerbread boy in a flash.

  6. Page 5 • The car is nearing the gingerbread boy, but he comes up with an idea to slow them down. Finding some nails on the side of the path, the gingerbread boy carefully aligns them with the pointy part facing up. As soon as the car nears them, it begins to slow down. The gingerbread boy escapes further away.

  7. Page 6 • The gingerbread boy keeps running all the way to the field full of pigs. Porky the Pig decides that he wants to eat the gingerbread boy, so he constructs a junky catapult with very bad work output and launches a net at him. Porky misses, letting the gingerbread boy escape yet again.

  8. Page 7 • Now at the barn, the gingerbread boy is spotted by Crazy the Cow, who also wants a bite out of him. Crazy the Cow charges toward him, but the gingerbread boy finds a makeshift zip-line constructed overhead. He leaps up into the air and uses it to escape just as Crazy tries to eat him.

  9. Page 8 • Oh no! The gingerbread boy lands in the middle of the hay of some horses. One horse, Hungry, becomes angry for him landing on his food. Hungry the Horse gallops toward the gingerbread man angrily, and the gingerbread boy runs to the gates. There, he finds a sewage pipe, and uses it to safely escape from Hungry.

  10. Page 9 • Chink! The gingerbread boy falls out of the sewage pipe near a river. Somehow, all of his followers have seemed to be on his trail again and could be heard in the near distance. Luckily, Smarty the Fox offers him a ride across the dangerous river. He accepts the offer and together they travel across the river, but falls into a mini whirlpool.

  11. Page 10 • As soon as Smarty arrives at the other side of the river, he finds out that the gingerbread boy is missing. Hearing the screams from under the whirlpool, Smarty quickly rows back to save him. Smarty rows using a great amount of power and work input on the rows, thus enabling him to save the gingerbread boy quickly. He is taken back to the other side away from his followers and leaps out of the boat with glee.

  12. Conclusion • “Thank you!” shouts the gingerbread boy to Smarty the Fox. Suddenly, Smarty displays a sinister smile on his twisted face and lunges for the gingerbread boy. Caught off guard, he stands no chance of escaping again and is happily eaten by Smarty.

  13. Moral • You should not brag about yourself, or you may end up in trouble, such as thinking you cannot be caught by anyone. Also, you should never trust strangers no matter how nice they may appear to be.
