Load flow analysis is a method that is used to find the power flow in the transmission line and to find voltage and currents in power transmission lines. ➢ Newton Rap son method ➢ DC load flow method For large power systems, load flow analysis takes a considerable while and therefore the results are useful just for offline analysis. A real-time load flow analysis that can provide the load of the power grid in real-time would be useful for load management, power systems protection, etc. Load flow analyses are often performed by dividing the massive power system into many small parts. And one more improvement that enhances the performance of load flow analysis is distributed computing.

If it’s possible to get the power flow real-time (within small intervals of time), load scheduling, protection, etc. can be done effectively. The project will be a simulation project that might require more than one computer and a complex IEEE standard bus. #2 power grid monitoring using Phasor Measurement Unit Phasor measurement unit (PMU) measures the voltage and angle and sends them to a centralized location with a satellite time stamp attached to the measurement. So the measured value from a PMU is going to be time-stamped value and makes the analysis simpler. A PMU has a lot of advantages over SCADA based power system monitoring system. Electric vehicles will be increased in number in the near future itself. They hook up with the facility grid to charge the battery. Renewable source to power grid integration. Micro generators generate electricity from various sources and that they have a high potential to attach to the facility grid. The generation of electricity at or around the load center itself is generally known as distributed generation. The conventional method of generating power at a location and transmit it to the load slowly changes thanks to the introduction of solar, wind, biogas, and other sorts of electricity generation.
