The specialized stream in EEE to review these is understood as power systems. Masters of Engineering in Power Systems deals with an equivalent intimately . We discussed some power grid projects here. Simulate grid-connected/islanded microgrids within contract distributed energy resources (DER) and utility-scale energy storage systems. Design and prove energy management system (EMS) supervisory logic for all operating conditions and leverage controller hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) for testing grid codes and standards such as IEEE 1547. Load flow analysis may be a method that wants to find the facility flow in cable, and to seek out voltage and currents in power transmission lines. Some methods for technology flow analysis are listed below 1.Newton Raphson method 2.DC load flow method For large power systems, load flow analysis takes considerably while and therefore the results are useful just for offline analysis. A real time load flow analysis which may provide the load of the facility grid in real time would be useful for load management, power systems protection etc. Load flow analysis is often performed dividing the massive power system into many small parts. Complex load flow algorithms are often split into many and performed in many computers to scale back the time consumption, and computational load. If it’s possible to urge the facility flow real time (within small intervals of time), load scheduling, protection etc. can be done effectively. The project is going to be a simulation project which may require quite one computer and sophisticated IEEE standard bus. Phasor measurement unit (PMU) measures the voltage and angle and sends it to a centralized location with a satellite timestamp to measure. So the measured value from a PMU are going to be a time stamped value and makes the analysis simpler. A PMU features a lot of benefits over scada based power grid monitoring system. PMU is expensive equipment and not installed at all locations of power transmission systems. Power system utilities manage the info from PMU. Research projects are often done using PMU for Masters and PhD students.
