  2. History • Since the 1960s, the US National Park Service has preserved our nation’s cultural and natural history. • About 275 million people visit the National Parks every year. • It is a part of the Department of the Interior.

  3. Gila Cliff Dwellings • Preserves the homes and lives of the Mogollan people, who lived over 700 years ago

  4. The nation’s first wilderness area Gila National Forest

  5. 3 Areas of Focus: • Research → Historians • Preservation → Environmental Scientists • Education → Interpreters (Docents) • All three of these components should come together to create a complete and rewarding experience for visitors The Problem
