  3. ALPHABEAT BAND Formed in Petaling Jaya in DEC2003, a collaborative result between members Aziz (Vocals & Percussions) and Riza aka. Boy (Vocals and Keyboards). A well known and popular 3piece sequenced/programmed ensemble which picks up on a wide musical repertoire of sentimental and oldies, Latins, R&Bs, top 40s, party selections of rock hits. Their rendition of choice Bee Gees’ numbers must be heard to be believed. Besides English songs, Alphabeat renders Malay, Chinese, Japanese, Thai, Hindi, Tagalog, etc. Gracie (Vocals) a young, pretty and a very talented lass blessed with fine, silky vocals. Her ability to deliver impressively a wide range of songs naturally adds zest to Alphabeat’s already fêted musical knack. All experienced members of Alphabeat have come together for the simple love of music itself. The band’s motto (of which there’s many), among them “we love a playin’ cuz you’re a payin’……” but of course “just wanna have fun!” cliché is always intimately there….

He was the founder member of the highly successful Factor Seven band which has extensively performed nationwide. Also with his previous band Citra, has cut a few Malay albums under FGM banner. A drummer initially, Aziz has taken to the microphones with prompt ease and confidence. He is well known for his ability to keep the crowd glued with his antics. He has an impressive range of English, Latin, Malay, Chinese, Hindi, Thai and Japanese songs under his belt. Apart from his strong vocals also handles percussions well in Alphabeat.

GRACIE (Vocals)‏ Gracie Shona Danau Desa, Jalan Klang Lama, KL Email: gracieshona@yahoo.co.uk Gracie’s credentials are nonetheless impressive, having had the experience of performing for various bands in Sabah and Peninsula Malaysia. Gracie, a Sabahan has the vocal versatility to tackle songs ranging from R&B, pop, jazz standards to, Dangdut, Chinese, Filipino, Hindi etc. Gracie obviously adds into Alphabeat that feminine chic` and sophistication, being the only rose among the thorns.

Previously a regular keyboard sessionist and composer for local artistes namely DJ Dave, Ziana Zain, Fauziah Latiff, Erra Fazira, Nora, Wings, Bloodshed etc. He has penned a few hit compositions for local artistes namely “Yang terindah hanya sementara” by Erra Fazira, “Bukanku tak sudi” by Saleem, “Rintik” by Nora, “Aku datang lagi” by Fauziah Latiff to name a few. He was also part of the opening act to Michael Bubble’s concert in Kuala Lumpur 2003, A classically trained pianist, he has also cut an album under Polygram label with his misfit band “Touch” produced by Johnny Herbert (The Pretenders, Eddie Bricknell, Rob Beckinsale). Boy handles all sequences, programming and keyboard duties of Alphabeat.
