  2. How does Modafinil work? These tablets contain the active ingredient modafinil, which is a form of medicine known as a CNS catalyst. It works by revitalizing activity within the central nervous system, i.e. the brain and spinal backbone. Modafinil 200mg improves wakefulness and day time alertness in individuals who experience extreme tiredness during the day, either due to narcolepsy, or due to a problem known as obstructive rest apnoea. It can also be used to enhance wakefulness and performance in individuals who experience average to serious insomnia due to serious move work. However, the medication should not be used as a alternative to rest and you should discuss to your physician about ways to try and sustain rest styles.
