  5. Computer 2-1st Semester • Spreadsheets Using a Spreadsheet Working with Functions & Organizing Data Creating Charts • Databases Introducing the Database Database Techniques Advanced Database Techniques

  6. Computer 2-2nd Semester • Drawing & Painting • Photoshop Elements & Photography Photoshop Elements Tips for Taking Photographs Using a Digital Camera • Presentations & iMovies Creating PowerPoint Presentations Advanced PowerPoint Presentations iMovies

  7. Daily Grades-30% • Daily grades are determined by time on task • Exercise problems and/or Review Questions assigned

Time on Task As soon as you enter the lab • Sit down at your computer and log in. • Begin work immediately • Work until you have just enough time to save your work before the bell rings. • SAVE YOUR WORK ABOUT EVERY 5 MINS. • Any time spent visiting or not on task will result in daily grade deductions.

  9. Pace • There are time constraints and minimum requirements which must be met. • Depending on your desire to learn, more can be accomplished. • Help is always here via the software, the textbook, Help or myself. • Do not slow the pace of others by becoming dependent on them.

  10. Need More Time • In order to complete assignments if you get behind you can: • Come in during Focus • Come in on Monday and/or Thursday evenings • Come to the minilab if you have free time during 1st-4th hours when I am available.

  11. Test/Project Grades-50% • Chapter Test, Cases, and/or Projects

Log In • Log in to OS X server. • Create a new folder for your Computer (2) Class. • All work will be saved in this folder • You will be instructed to Print and turn in some of the work. • In some cases, you will be asked to upload the work to your ALCA folder. • There are times you will do both. • Log In to your OSX server now to see if you have any problems.

  14. Select LOG IN • Select Register • Complete the information • If you do not have an email address, use your first initial last name @email.com example: lsweatt@email.com • Write your username & password down on the sheet of paper being passed around the room.

  17. Select Rooms • Enter p0604 in the box next to the button Enroll • Select Enroll

  18. Currently Pending • Within the next day or two, you will be able to access your class online • Depends on how fast I am!!!!!!!! • But when you are confirmed…

  19. Dashboard • Log In to ALCA • Lesson plans and assignments are found by selecting Rooms --select Computer Science II-Applications • Select chapter you are working on • Assignments for the chapter will be listed

  20. Cases • In addition to the chapter test, there will be at least two cases which you must complete. These are to be printed with your name in the appropriate location.

  21. Test • Each Chapter test is multiple choice and/or True False and is online. • It will be listed as part of the assignments • You may use you book when you take a test, but please do not ask another student for an answer.
