  1. “Performance in sport and business is more about the mind than the body” THE ATTITUDE FOR SUCCESS: SURVIVING AND THRIVING IN THE LEGAL SECTOR

  2. WILL THIS WORKSHOP BENEFIT ME? • Everyone feels the effects of work place pressures but what sets successful lawyers apart is how they deal with it. Taking research from: Positive Psychology Sports Psychology, Neuroscience and Resilience, we have developed a series of workshops and coaching interventions that will help legal professionals cope better with workplace pressures and not just survive, but thrive. • If you want to feel more: • In control and optimistic • Focused and determined • Confident making business decisions • Comfortable recognising and eliminating self- imposed limitations on your ability to succeed • Able to challenge and manage your pressures effectively • If you can tick at least two of these boxes this workshop will certainly benefit you. Stress has a negative impact on our physical and mental health as well as our overall performance. 2 www.cognoscenti.uk.com

  3. Mental toughness and Resilience have fascinated sports coaches, performers and psychologists since the 1950’s. • WHAT WILL THE WORKSHOP COVER • Our ½ day Cognitive Skills for Legal Practitioners Workshop has been designed for Lawyers and legal professionals who work in high pressured environments where they are expected to consistently maintain high levels of work performance and client engagement. • Course content has been developed specifically for legal professionals, based on our ‘Resilient Performance’ model, using aspects of neuroscience and positive psychology; including mental toughness, resilience, hardy personalities and growth mind-sets. • The workshop has been designed by an occupational psychologist (chartered by the British Psychological Society) with over 25 years experience in delivering workplace training, consultancy and coaching centred on: wellbeing, high performance and cognitive skills development. 3 Cognoscenti.uk.com

  4. WHY FOCUS ON PERFORMANCE & WELLBEING? The time for just surviving is over. The fast pace of legal practice, new alternative business models, and the growing challenges of today’s digitally enhanced global economy have placed considerable pressure on law firms and their legal and administrative staff As a consequence, the number of lost workdays and associated people costs have become a significant burden upon law firms. Professionals who have enhanced their cognitive skills are more resilient when under pressure, have higher productivity levels and less sickness absence/presenteeism.
