  4. House Of Commons • Parliaments first chamber • Most Powerful of two parties • 659 Members • Elected by the people • Most policies and laws are made here

  5. House Of Lords • Parliaments second chamber • “Double Checks” new laws and policies • 675 Members—Elected by distinctive selection • Does not have much power, just exists

  6. The Monarchy • The Queen is Head of State • Has the final say on whether or not a bill becomes a law • Last Monarch to reject a law: Queen Anne in the early 1700’s • Mainly a figurehead • Tony Blair is the head of government
