The Links Incorporated, Fort Worth Chapter The Fort Worth Chapter of The Links, Incorporated is committed to increasing student interest and participation in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). Students of color will have the opportunity to develop the skills to compete and excel in a global workforce that is increasingly relying on individuals with STEM related proficiencies. Fort Worth Chapter is committed to raising funds for the purpose of supporting programs that will promote student involvement in STEM education and careers. STEM-U-LATING Butterfly Blitz

The Links Incorporated, Fort Worth Chapter EMPRESS Program The EMPRESS program, first implemented in 2006, addresses problems of today’s youth by providing much needed services to young women to help them reach their full potential. The name for the program, coined by young women in the 2006 program, is an acronym for Empowered Minds Produce Resilient Exemplary Successful Sisters Full STEAM Ahead, the Art and Science of Creating the Total Girl STEM-U-LATING Butterfly Blitz

The Links Incorporated, Fort Worth Chapter EMPRESS Program Objectives • Empower and inspire young women to leadership through ongoing mentorship and creative programming. • Offer young women alternatives to destructive life cycles through exposure to positive aspects and opportunities within our community and the world at large. • Provide guidance on image, presence and personal awareness to enhance self-esteem and self-assurance. • Create opportunities for give back to the community through participation in service projects. • Bridge the technology gap that exists for African-American youth by building life skills that focus in areas of science, technology, engineering, and math.
