  2. Afghan National Army soldiers, 201st Corps, raise their hands to answer a question during an ANA-led medic training course at Forward Operating Base Gamberi, Laghman province. Soldiers with 201st Corps participate in classroom training prior to moving to hands-on training. RC-EAST

McHugh visited Bagram to meet with Soldiers and to evaluate retrograde operations as U.S. forces prepare for the transition of the International Security and Assistance Force mission in Afghanistan at the end of 2014. The training will help the soldiers with radio operations, personal computer skills and electronics maintenance. RC-SOUTH

Nahr-e Saraj District Governor Mohammed Fahim signs a contract agreeing to assume control of a coalition force base in the upper Gereshk valley during a meeting at the Nahr-e Saraj District Center in Helmand province. District leadership met at the center to sign the contract and discuss plans for improved security and stability to the region. RC-SOUTHWEST

RC-SOUTHWEST The Nahr-e Saraj District Agriculture Irrigation and Livestock (DAIL) Haji Abdullah carves a watermelon for district leadership and their coalition forces guests during a meeting at the Nahr-e Saraj District Center in Helmand province. The district leadership met to sign a contract agreeing to assume control of a coalition force base in the upper Gereshk valley.

  8. Afghan commandos with 2nd Special Operations Brigade fire their weapons at targets during a weapons range in Shindand district, Herat province. The commandos, with their coalition force mentors, review proper firing techniques to increase accuracy and combat effectiveness. CJSOTF-A
