  2. LA HISTORIA • Los siglos dieciséis y diecisiete. • El Virreinato (viceroyalty) se extendía desde el estrecho de Magallanes (MagellanStrait) hasta Ecuador. • Lima fue la capital.

LA CIUDAD • Las ciudades se parecían a las ciudades de España. • La Plaza de Armas – un serie de calles que forman un octágono. • La plaza es un espacio abierto en una ciudad. • Las casas de las personas importantes tenían 2 pisos y los balcones de madera. • Las casas de las personas en las clases bajas tenían sólo un piso de colores alegres. • Los barrios o pueblos indios se situaban en lasafueras de la ciudad.

  4. LAS CLASES DE LA SOCIEDAD • Hay un sistema de nivelessociales: • Los hidalgos (nobles) y la noblezacriolla • Los mestizos • Los negros y los indígenas
