  4. What is it for? • Joint replacement surgery is a safe and effective procedure to relieve pain, correct leg deformity, and help you resume normal activities.

  5. How is it caused? • Osteoarthritis: Thisis an age-related "wear and tear" type of arthritis. It usually occurs in people 50 years of age. • Rheumatoid arthritis: rheumatoid arthritis produces a type of inflammation that results in damaged and deformed joints.

  6. Recovery time: • Most patients are able to resume normal daily activities within 6 weeks and drive within 3 to 6 weeks. It may take them 4 to 6 months or up to an entire year to fully recover and realize total benefits of knee replacement surgery.
