  2. Service Level Status (SLS) • Collectsservice availability and service metric information • provided by service managers (as an XML) • Presents a Service Level Overview • organised in a structurebased on the Service DataBase (SDB) • Entries in SDB are self managed by SM: • It has “official” services • It has “other services”: free for all • Via SDB, anyonecan add an entry and plot some metrics (from the XML)

  3. SLS implementation Display Collector List of SLS services Service update info local cache XML RRD Service meta info * n Service update info permanent storage Service update info * n

  4. CERN Service Catalogue in Snow • ServiceNow is the user interface for services at CERN • During the past few years many SDB Services have been mapped to SNOW service catalogue • ServiceNow is the primary data source for the service catalogue at CERN • SDB is being phase out • Best effort and Piquet Calendar have already been phase out • Last usage is SLS • Would like to make SDB read only soon

  5. Service Availability in SNOW • In SNOW: • Collect service availability for Service Elements (using same XML, configured by SM) • Have a number/color associated with the Service Elements (user facing) • Have a dashboard with the current status of the Service Elements and links to service portal • Not in SNOW: • Availability history • KPI, numeric values • Custom availability thresholds

  6. Service Metrics Dashboards • More details in Pedro's presentation • Availability history and other service data from SLS is similar to other existing metric data, e.g. lemon. • Prototyping a way to merge this data source • Not restricted to services in SNOW service catalogue • Store data in a a common data store • Provide dashboards with the same set of tools as the Lemon replacement
