  1. Jerusalem Jerusalem has great importance because of al Aqsa mosque. This city has a special dignified position in the hearts of the Arab Moslems and Christians due to its holy, cultural and historical places .

  2. Jeruslem was built by the Jebusites in the year 2500-3000 BC. It is a 35 centuries aged city , and it is about 750 high from the surface of the sea . Jerusalem is surrounded by a 4 Km long wall which is one of the most significant historical and archaeological features that was built during the ottoman era by the ottoman Sultan Suleiman .

  3. The names of Jerusalem The oldest name for Jerusalem is “yabous” and it was named after the Jebusites . Then it was named Aursalm, meaning the village of peace that king sadiq called Then it was known by it is canaanite name “Iroshalim “ Then During the Roman era it was called “Ailia” it was also named “shaleem” which means peace but it well known and recent name is “ALquds “

  4. Jerusalem Gates There are seven gates for the old city of Jerusalem which are :Damascus Gate .Jaffa Gate ,New Gate ,Dung Gate ……..

  8. Christian holy places The Church of Gethsamane It exsits at the bottom of mount of olives ,it some of the oldest buildings in Jerusalem that was built in the year 326

  9. Church of Resurrection It is a church that exists inside the walls of old city of Jerusalem ,it was built on the rock that Jesus crist was crucified on .
