  2. Concept: This text set is a collection of material for students to use when learning the basics of soccer in physical education. This text set was designed to give the students an awareness of what is to come . TEKS:TEKS 116.22(B3B) participate in moderate to vigorous health-related physical activities on a regular basis; TEKS 116.22(B5B) select proper attire that promotes participation and prevents injury; TEKS 116.22(B6A) know basic rules for sports played such as setting up to start, restarting, violating rules; and TEKS 116.22(B6B) keep accurate score during a contest TEKS 116.22(B7C) identify and follow rules while playing sports and games; TEKS 116.22(B7F) modify games/activities to improve game/activity. TEKS 116.23(B1A) coordinate movements with teammates to achieve team goals; TEKS 116.23(B1G) combine skills competently to participate in modified versions of team and individual sports; and TEKS 116.23(B3A) participate in games, sports, dance, and/or outdoor pursuits in and outside of school based on individual interests and/or capabilities; TEKS 116.23(B5A) use equipment safely and properly; TEKS 116.24(B3A) describe and select physical activities that provide for enjoyment and challenge;

Basis for Judging: This book was both recommended and given to me when I started soccer to help me better develop my soccer skills. Usage: The text will be used to find drills to help the students enhance their skill performance. Fiction

  5. Sports Camp Soccer VideoBennett Marine Video DVD Release Date: March 28, 2006 Annotation: Sports Camp Soccer video is based on seven dynamic sessions offering training for young players. The video has lessons on dribbling, goal keeping, ball control, passing, shooting, and trick. All the training is the video is coached by Major league soccer coaches. Basis for Judging: I chose this video mainly, because it is training that is being taught by major league soccer players. Usage: The video can be used for when the students need tips on different techniques used in soccer. Video

Annotation: The Basics for Beginners is a brief with detailed illustrations to take students to the soccer field to learn the basics of the game. Usage: The text can be used as a picture book through the illustrations. Picture Book

Basis for Judging: I chose this game mainly, because I have seen many students get actively involved in this game. Basis of Judging: We chose this book based on the review it received from amazon. Usage: The text can be used as an introduction to the sport of soccer.

Basis of Judging: We chose this dvd based on the rating it received from amazon. Usage: The video can be used as an information source on how soccer began.

Basis for Judging: We chose this book based on the reviews it received from amazon. Usage: The text can be use for students to learn the essentials while maximizing their time.

COACHING YOUTH SOCCER:TECHNIQUES & TACTICSStudio: Human Kinetics VHS Release Date: April 10, 2001 Annotation: Coaching Youth Soccer: Techniques and Tactics is a good video for both students and coaches to watch. The video helps with developing techniques and tactics among young players Basis For Judging: We chose this video mainly, because it is a good starting video to watch if you are just learning the sport. Usage: The video can be used to develop techniques and tactics.
