  1. Looking Back Into the Future

  2. (Rev 4:1-4) After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter. And immediately I was in the spirit: and, behold, a throne was set in heaven, and one sat on the throne. And he that sat was to look upon like a jasper and a sardine stone: and there was a rainbow round about the throne, in sight like unto an emerald. And round about the throne were four and twenty seats: and upon the seats I saw four and twenty elders sitting, clothed in white raiment; and they had on their heads crowns of gold.

  3. THE MYSTERIOUS SCROLL

  4. (Rev 5:1-4) And I saw in the right hand of him that sat on the throne a book written within and on the backside, sealed with seven seals. And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, Who is worthy to open the book, and to loose the seals thereof? And no man in heaven, nor in earth, neither under the earth, was able to open the book, neither to look thereon. And I wept much, because no man was found worthy to open and to read the book, neither to look thereon.

  5. I. The description of the scroll

  6. Revelation • It is in the right hand of God. • Signifying strength, power and ability • 2. It is written on front and back. • Both sides of the scroll • 3. It has 7 seals • During Roman times a legal will had to be sealed by 7 witnesses

  7. II. The detection of the scroll

  8. Revelation • General Beliefs as to the identity of the scroll. • Bible • Book of Daniel • Book of Revelation

  9. Bible? (1Co 2:10-14) But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God…Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

  10. (Dan 12:4) But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.

  11. (Rev 22:10) And he saith unto me, Seal not the sayings of the prophecy of this book: for the time is at hand.

  12. Revelation • General Beliefs as to the identity of the scroll. • Bible • Book of Daniel • Book of Revelation • Scriptural Identity of the scroll

  13. Revelation • When the seals are opened in 6 and 7 the wrath and judgment of God is poured out on the Earth. • When the 7th seal is opened in Rev 8:1 it initiates the sounding of 7 trumpets

  14. (Rev 8:1-2) And when he had opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven about the space of half an hour. And I saw the seven angels which stood before God; and to them were given seven trumpets.

  15. Revelation • When the seals are opened in 6 and 7 the wrath and judgment of God is poured out on the Earth. • When the 7th seal is opened in Rev 8:1 it initiates the sounding of 7 trumpets • When the 7th trumpet sounds in Rev. 11:15, The kingdoms of the earth become the Lord’s

  16. (Rev 11:15-16) And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever. And the four and twenty elders, which sat before God on their seats, fell upon their faces, and worshipped God,

  17. Revelation • What is it that the 24 elders are singing about in Chapter 5

  18. (Rev 5:9-10) And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation; And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.

  19. III. The details of the scroll

  20. Revelation • So this book that is opened is the “titled deed of the earth” that signifies ownership after it has been redeemed.

  21. (Exo 9:29) And Moses said unto him, As soon as I am gone out of the city, I will spread abroad my hands unto the LORD; and the thunder shall cease, neither shall there be any more hail; that thou mayest know how that the earth is the LORD'S. (Psa 24:1) A Psalm of David. The earth is the LORD'S, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.

  22. Revelation • When God created Adam, he gave him what is know as a “bonafided grant”. Which means he turned over the earth in good faith to Adam.

  23. (Gen 1:28) And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

  24. Revelation • When Adam fell, all of creation fell and was placed under a curse just like him

  25. (Gen 3:17-18) And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life; Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field;

  26. (Rom 8:19-23) For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God. For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope,Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now. And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.

  27. Revelation • When Adam fell, he gave over ownership or dominion to Satan

  28. (2Co 4:4) In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. (Eph 2:2) Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:

  29. (Mat 4:8-9) Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.

  30. Revelation • Redemption is the process of God buying back what Adam lost. • Soul • Spirit • Body • Land

  31. (Gal 3:13) Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: (1Pe 1:18-19) Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:

  32. (1Co 6:19-20) What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.

  33. (Eph 1:7) In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace; (Eph 1:14) Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory. (Eph 4:30) And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.

  34. Revelation • Just like your body has not been redeemed, neither has the land and creation. • The Provision of the Kinsman-Redeemer. • Leviticus 25

  35. Revelation • The Provision of the Kinsman-Redeemer. • The REQUIREMENTS • He had to be a blood relative.

  36. (Heb 2:14) Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; (1Ti 3:16) And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

  37. Revelation • The Provision of the Kinsman-Redeemer. • The REQUIREMENTS • He had to be a blood relative. • He had to be able. (debt free)

  38. (Heb 7:25) Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them. (2Co 5:21) For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

  39. Revelation • The Provision of the Kinsman-Redeemer. • The REQUIREMENTS • He had to be a blood relative. • He had to be able. (debt free) • He had to be willing.

  40. (2Pe 3:9) The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

  41. Revelation • Our Soul and spirit was redeemed the day we received him as Savior • He will redeem our body at the rapture • He will redeem the land during the time of the tribulation

  42. Isa. 11
