  2. Sergey Maikhailovich Brin • Born in Moscow, Russia, on August 21, 1973. • Age 15, studying math at the college level. • Pursued Ph.D. at Stanford. • Paid 5 million to travel into actual space. Expected to launch in 2011.

  3. Lawrence Edward Page • Lansing, Michigan. • Father, computer science professor at Michigan State. • Mother, computer programming professor. • Graduated from University of Michigan with a degree in computer engineering. • Like Sergey, Ph.D. at Stanford.

The Beginning of Google • 1996, Page and Brin collaborate on “Backrub” search engine. • The name was later changed to “PageRank” • The first version of Google was released in August 1996 • In 1997, Google.com was registered as a domain name • Mid 1998, Google was searching for potential partners

  5. 1999 – 2001 • Google opened it’s first office. • Google launched AdWords and was declared largest search engine in the world. • Google introduce first chairman and CEO Eric Schmidt. • 2002 – 2004 • AdSense went into service for advertisers. • Google moved into Googleplex. • Google went public.
