  2. THE TV Hernan was shopping for a TV to fit in his stand. The stand has a width of 20 inches. The TV is 15 inches tall and the diagonal distance is 33 inches wide. Will it fit on his stand? The TV is 29.4 inches wide. No it will not fit on the stand.

  3. THE TABLE Stella wants to find the height of the coffee table. If the diagonal distance from the ground to the table top is 31 inches and the base is 17 inches, what is the height? Stella’s coffee table is 35.4 inches tall.

  4. Bunk Bed In my room there are bunk beds and my dog wants to sleep on the top bunk, its 6 feet tall to the top bunk and my dog is 2 feet from the bed. What is the distance he has to jump? My dog will have to jump 5.6 feet to get to the top bunk.

  5. THE GUITAR Devon wants to know how long of strings he needs to fit over the white session of his guitar. We know the width is 3 inches and the diagonal distance is 7 inches. Find the height. The white session on the guitar is 6.3 inches tall.

  6. THE CAT The diagonal distance for the cat to the top of the box is 13 inches. The height of the box is 10 inches. How far is the cat from the box? The cat is 16.40 inches away from the box.

  7. THE WALL Jack wants to paint is living room wall blue. He knows it is 8 feet tall and the diagonal distance is 20 feet. Find the width of the wall. The wall’s width is 18.33 feet.

  8. The Flag Jim wants to fly a flag in this front yard. He wants to the flag to have a diagonal distance of 19.5 feet and the width to be 10 feet. Jim wants to know what the height of the flag will be. The flag’s height is 7.8 feet.

  9. THE TREE Tommy wants to fit a Christmas tree in this living room which is 10 feet tall. Tommy knows half of the trees width is 2 feet and the diagonal distance of the tree is 12 feet. Will the tree fit in the living room? The tree is 11.83 feet tall and will not fit in the living room.

  10. THE BOX Jordan wants to fit a small object in this box. The object is 5 inches tall. The box’s diagonal distance is 18 inches and the width is 7 inches. Will the object fit in the box? (Find the height) The height of the box is inches tall. The object will not fit in the box.

  11. The Picture Frame Nic wants to hang a frame on the wall, the objects width is 7 inches and its diagonal distance is 13 inches . The frame height is 10.95 inches
