  2. 1 As a student, one is probably familiar with IB, GCSE, SAT, and many other acronyms. Standardized tests and syllabi are an important part of the modern education framework. It can be hard to juggle all of these, while also thinking about what subjects you should be taking, and what grades are necessary for your future. Here we’ll be focusing on the International Baccalaureate (IB). What is IB? The International Baccalaureate, or IB for short, is an education program that o?ers 4 highly challenging programs for students between the ages of 3 and 19. A rigorous 2-year program, IB focuses on personal and academic development and, upon completion, awards a highly prestigious, globally recognized diploma. A non-profit organization, IB focuses on developing students’ intellectual, emotional, personal, and social skills, with the aim of creating responsible, intelligent citizens for an increasingly global world. The IB diploma program for high school-age students consists of six main subjects. Students are given college-level courses which, while hard at first, serve the purpose of preparing students for higher-level education. Colleges also hold applicants with an IB diploma in high regard, valuing the capacity to risk one’s GPA on a more challenging course of study. Abu Dhabi Abu Dhabi is one of the richest cities in the world, with a diverse population of around 2 million people.
