  2. The purpose of the student-led conference is for the student to take the lead in a presentation that articulates his or her academic, personal, and social growth. I used to get wicked nervous on tests, but now I just study real hard and I am doing much better I really like to skateboard. I am getting better at jumps! I used to hate doing presentations. Now I love them! I really improved my grade in Algebra…

  3. That’s great, but why do I have to do it? Why can’t my teachers just talk to my parents?

  4. Because… It will help you to develop a plan for your future together with the school and your parents. You have the opportunity to reflect on your progress through a formal process. You will practice the necessary skills for presenting yourself in a professional setting such as a job interview, college admissions, or scholarship interview.
