CHEMICAL COMPISITION • The chemical composition of the minerls is variated, but in the exterior layers of the Earth's crust the most common chemical elements are: Oxygen( O) 47%, Silica (Si) 28%, Aluminum (Al) 8%,Iron (Fe) 5%, Calcium (Ca) 3.5%, Sodium (Na) 3%, Potasium (K) 2.5%, Magnesium (Mg) 2 %, and the remaining 1% are the others elements found in the Periodic Table.
