(Gen. 19:1,9) • Question: How could she be comfortable in a place this bad? • Answer: She treasured her “life.” • Matt. 6:19-21, Luke 17:33, 28 • Sodom influenced the whole family. • Her unwillingness to flee • Her daughters’ choices in husbands • Her daughters’ sin

  3. What You Value Matters • Stability Became Her Idol, So God Made Her A Pillar. • God’s Plea for Movement • Why Is Stability Such A Strong Temptation? • How should we respond? (Luke 17:31) • Christians Cannot Stay Put! • 1 Cor. 9:24

  4. How You Run Matters • (Genesis 19:17) When they had brought them outside, one said, "Escape for your life! Do not look behind you, and do not stay anywhere in the valley; escape to the mountains, or you will be swept away. • God Provides Escape • Your Life Depends On It • Do Not Look Back • Do Not Linger With Sin • We Need The Safety Of The Mountain • God Will Sweep Away Those Who Stop Running

  6. Our Failure To Run Hurts Others • When her family needed her most, she was dead. • Her Husband, Her Daughters, Her Descendants • Gen. 19:30-38 • We are dead when we are so tied to old habits that we cannot move. • We are dead when we are not ready to move forward with God.
